The purpose of the social network is for people to talk about everything that matters in freelance culture. We encourage both newbies and veterans to take part, and we also encourage both freelancers and folks that are looking to hire freelancers to take part in the conversation.

We are giving out free “featured profiles” for a year to the 1st 200 people that write us with your username on our Facebook Fan Page wall at http://www.facebook.com/myzoox or send a @ mention to us at @myzoox on twitter. Make sure its the username from your service provider account.

With a “featured profile” you will have 100 bids/month instead of the standard 30, only be charged a 5% transaction fee instead of the standard 10% for services completed on MyZoox, and you will be able to bid on projects marked for featured members only.  Here is a link to the membership info page, http://myzoox.com/membership_info.php.

Don’t forget to post a profile when you register as a service provider, so you can actually bid on projects, and upload any work samples you have to the new portfolio section.  Yes, the new portfolio section is finally done, & we are sorry for the delay!

We have now implemented a more complete portfolio section for all you service providers who want to show off samples of your work. It’s fresh out the oven, so head on over to your My Admin, and start uploading all those beautiful samples of your work that you would like to share with potential clients.

Featured Profiles are now available for service providers to purchase for $12/month. Getting a “featured profile” instead of a standard profile will enable you to bid on projects that employers have limited to “featured profiles” only, give you 100 bids/month instead of the standard 30 (extra bids are sold in bid pax as well), and you only pay a 5% transaction fee on services that are matched on the site, instead of the standard 10%.

We are almost ready to shift from our soft launch to our real launch. There are a couple small items left to be finished, like our Forum, that will be coming soon. We encourage you to actually post a service provider profile up if you haven’t already, and post as many as you can! Don’t forget to register as an employer as well if you haven’t already or vice versa.

We will be running a contest shortly to encourage different actions in the community like posting service provider profiles, registering as an employer and a service provider, posting & bidding on projects, receiving positive feedback, and using our invite tool (accessible via the “invite” tab on top of the homepage), & joining our Facebook Fan Page, http://www.facebook.com/myzoox.
